P90x3 Update!

It has been a long time since I shared an update with you all about my personal fitness journey.

Here you have it. It is time to bust out the before and afters of the first 8 weeks of P90x3.  It has not been easy.  It is not a get thin quick plan.  It is real work doing 30 minute workouts 6 days a week and being smart about what I put in my body.

Day 0 – The Beginning!

1/3 of the way in. 4 weeks!

8 weeks! 2/3 of the way done!

I will not lie.  I was a bit of a sceptic but this works!  Plus I have more energy and am just all around a happier person.

So what else have I been doing?  Coaching OTHERS to reach their goals.  I have had the pleasure of doing many different accountability groups with a total of 40 people over the past 45 days.  And I am starting more groups in April!

I would love for you to join me.  The more the merrier!

And I can’t wait to share with you my final 12 week results in 2 1/2 weeks!

52 Weeks of Recipes! Honey Dijon Chicken & Steamed Broccoli

So I am a bit behind on recipes for the year and for that I apologize!  Life is crazy and my free time has been spent doing my new gig as a health and fitness coach.  So…I decided to combine both worlds a little and share with you guys one of the recipes I am currently using in my free 5 day Nutrition Accountability Group!

Honey Dijon Chicken w/Steamed Garlic-Parmesan Broccoli

Ingredients per serving:

  • 6 oz chicken breast half
  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1/3 Tablespoon parsley flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup broccoli

Mix dijon mustard with honey. Add parsley and salt.  Coat chicken breast in the mixture.  Cook on a grill for 7 minutes on each side or bake at 350 for about 30 min depending on size.  Check to ensure it is cooked all the way through.

Steam frozen or fresh broccoli and top with 1 tsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp garlic salt and parmesean cheese.

You guys, this meal is super easy and the whole family loved it. The two kiddos gobbled it up!

Interested in joining my next 5 day nutrition accountability group?  Message me or comment below!  I would love to have you!  It’s free (other than buying the groceries of course) and I will ensure you stay on track and you will have great motivation through our Facebook group!

Life Update

Sometimes life happens and we just have to catchup to it right?

I am behind on this blog.  But with good reason.  Two little cuties keep me busy.  Then there is a full time job.  Then there is my new hobby of fitness/nutrition coaching.  And guess what happened in the first month of that?

I went Emerald!  Which is pretty cool!  I continue to truly love helping people get on a path to reach their fitness goals and have met so many wonderful people.  Life is full of a lot of positivity right now.  I thank god for putting me on that path for I needed this.

But I do plan to update this blog with my picture posts and catch up on my recipes. :)  I am a couple of weeks behind but promise to make it up.

More soon!  Thanks for your patience while I learn to balance a whole new set of items!

Nutrition Challenge!

Hey all!  I am co-coaching a nutrition challenge starting February 24!  It is a 5 day challenge where I will provide you with a grocery list, easy to follow daily meal plan, and advice and support along the way!

Our Facebook Challenge group is being put together now so comment if you want details!  I would love for you to join us. :)

Happy Thursday!

Week 6 of #365dayswithamanda2014 and High FIVES!

Thankfully we have made it a week into February already.  I say thankfully because I don’t know about any of you but this is seriously the LONGEST.WINTER.EVER.

Say it with me now.  40 DAYS UNTIL SPRING. Anyway, it’s been another great week in my parts and I am ready to show you a picture from each day.  Don’t forget that you can follow along live on Instagram at username amandacspeese and will not have to wait until the end of the week to see the exciting things happening in our lives. ;)

Day 31: A little Keeping up with the Kardashians to end our busy week.  See what I mean about exciting lives?  I promise it gets better. ;)

Day 31

Day 32: Sienna joined us for tumbling class!  It is probably one of the safest places for a crazy, no fear 10 month old.  Padding and mats everywhere!

Day 32

Day 33: Playtime before bed.  I’m so happy these two have each other.  And seriously do they not look the same size here?

Day 33

Day 34: I started block 2 of my 12 weeks Fitness Challenge!  I can’t even begin to tell how much I have enjoyed my challenge group.  And being able to do this from the comfort of my own home.  Pretty obvious how much when I decided to become a coach too!

Day 34

Day 35: This little girl decided one day she was potty trained.  And her favorite part might be washing her hands!

Day 35

Day 36: Reading is one of our favorite things to do together.

Day 36

Day 37: Cookies after dance class!

Day 37

Now time to move onto the high fives from my week. I link up with Lauren to share in some of the joys from the week!

1) Block 2! I mentioned above that I am now in Block 2 of my 12 week fitness challenge.  I just love the people in my group and am excited so start co-coaching a challenge group in the next couple of weeks!  I am also going to put together a free nutrition challenge group.  Exiting, positive things going on!

2) Grandma time! Dan’s mom came to town this past weekend and it was so great having her around!  The girls just love being spoiled by their grandma.

3)  Dinner with friends!  Dan’s mom being in town meant we were able to go out for dinner in Des Moines!  A two-hour dinner with great conversation!  Our friends Alli and Brock always find the best restaurants for us to go to and it was great.

4) Car paid off!  I will get more into this later but we paid our car off!  It took a lot of hard work and being super cheap but we did it!  And…

5) Basement! We are moving forward with building a nice bedroom in the basement! I  can’t wait for guests to have a nice cozy place down there!

What are your high fives?

Week 6 – 52 Weeks of Recipes – Pork Tenderloin

Need a meal you can throw in the crockpot on a busy day? I have you covered.

Amazing (and easy) Pork Tenderloin!

1 pork tenderloin (I used a 2 lb loin)
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
1 cup water
3/4 cup red wine
3 tablespoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
freshly ground black pepper to taste

Place pork tenderloin in a slow cooker with the contents of the soup packet. Pour water, wine, and soy sauce over the top, turning the pork to coat. Carefully spread garlic over the pork, leaving as much on top of the roast during cooking as possible. Sprinkle with pepper, cover, and cook on low setting for 4 hours. Serve with cooking liquid on the side as au jus. Yum! Serve with your sides of choice!

Healthier Lifestyle!

First of all I simply cannot wait for this plan to go on sale tomorrow!

I am putting together a Facebook challenge group for it and have such an amazing group of people set to help motivate and inspire one another through these 21 days.  Message me or comment below for details on how you can become a part of this test challenge group.  The plan doesn’t go on sale to the general public for two more weeks so here is your chance to get a jump-start on those summer bikini bodies!

You can also follow along on my journey of my 21 Day Program on my new Fitness and Health Blog:

Amanda Speese Health and Fitness

I didn’t want to bore you with the details of this if you weren’t interested so decided to make a special place for all posts related to those topics!  A few may make its way to this blog but I want this to still be more about day-to-day life and my fabulous family. :)

As for me, I am now 4 weeks into the P90x3 Challenge and still loving it!  I plan to write a post about that over on my fitness blog soon too. :)

For now, enjoy super bowl Sunday!

Week 5 of #365dayswithamanda2014 and High FIVES!

Another week of 2014 is in the books.  Which is great since this has been the LONGEST JANUARY EVER.  I am so ready for spring!  Lets recap the last week of #365dayswithamanda2014 (don’t forget to follow me on Instagram at amandacspeese).

Day 24: Dinner with the girls to celebrate Kyley’s birthday!  It was so good seeing everyone.  We don’t do this nearly enough.

Day 25: I just love going to tumbling on Saturday mornings with this little girl!  We both look forward to it all week!  Boo joined us. :)

Day 26: The weather has been pretty miserable and we need to burn off energy somehow.  Indoor trampoline for the win!

Day 27: Now that Sienna does, well, most all Cassidy does, they love to race up the stairs to bath time!

Day 28: C is such an amazing helper.  I gave her a bottle of vinegar and water and let her go to town cleaning her toy room!

Day 29: It’s official, I am addicted to Shakeology.  I can’t even begin to tell you how much better this stuff has made me feel!  And having a shake for breakfast is fantastic!  This day I had a strawberry banana shake….yummy!

Day 30: Thursday nights I take Cassidy to a parent tot music/dance class.  We just love it!  And then she gets to come home and have a small snack with Daddy before bed. :)

Now time to move onto the high fives from my week. I link up with Lauren.to share in some of the joys from the week!

1) Fitness and Health Coaching! Over the past week I have made some new friends while learning more about fitness and health coaching.  It has been so great and I love all the positivity I am now seeing on my social media newsfeeds!

2) Potty training!  I haven’t really talked much about this but about 2 weeks ago Cassidy just suddenly started telling us when she had to go potty.  Then she wanted to wear undies.  And then we realized she was rocking it.  In 2 weeks she only has had 3 accidents.  She even wore undies to school the past two days!

3) Friend time!   As you can see from my first picture above, we celebrated on of my friend, Kyley’s birthdays this past Friday with a surprise dinner.  It was so great seeing all of those girls!  Most of us are really busy being wives and mommy’s and friend time is rare.

4) New pants!  I won’t go on about this but thanks to my P90x3 challenge I have lost a few pounds so treated myself to some new pants with a Christmas gift card.  Yay!

5) Basement! We are slowly working a plan to add a bedroom downstairs in our home. I can’t wait to have another comfy space for guests to stay in when they visit!  With so much family living far away we often have multiple guests in our house at one time.  This will help immensely!

Join in!  What are your high fives??
